Age Champions and Runners (Up U6-U17)

Winners are based on performances, attendance, co-operation with officials, attitude and presentation.

Junior Club Person of the Year: Presidents Trophy* (U6-U10)

Winner based on sportsmanship, personal best improvements and attendance.

Winner based on sportsmanship, personal best improvements and attendance.

John Mudford Junior Trophy (Track)

Winner based on highest number of Blue Levels in Field Events U6 to U10 yrs.

Winner based on highest number of Blue Levels in Field Events U11 to U17 yrs.

Best All Round Athletes (male and female) McDonalds Shields *(U6 – U10) (U11 – U17)

For Athletes who have achieved a high level in both track and field events. Initial criteria based on Blue levels achieved in all events.

Centre Attendance Awards

For all Athletes with 100% attendance for the season.

Coaches Award

This award is presented to the athlete/s nominated by the Coaches who best demonstrate they embrace the criteria of (a) regular participant at club level training sessions; (b) courteous to coaches; (c) shows enthusiasm and (d) always strives to better themselves.

Arena Manager’s Trophy

For an Athlete who in the opinion of the Arena Manager has “plugged away” week in and week out.

Competition Manager’s Trophy (male and female)

For Athletes who demonstrate sportsmanship on Regional Relay Day.

Norm Gadd Memorial Trophy (male and female)

For the Athlete with the highest personal improvements over a nominated 10 weeks. This Athlete is nominated by our Club for the State awarded Laurie Baartz Improvement Trophy.

1996 South Australian State Team Shield

A record of Mt Gravatt Athletes chosen as a member of the Queensland Little Athletics State team.

Club Pentathlon (male and female)*

For those athletes in age groups U9 to U15 who accumulate most points based on their best performances over the season in five specified events as follows:

  • U9: 100m, 60mH, 800m, H/J(B), L/J(G), D(B), SP(G)
  • U10: 100m, 60mH, 800m, H/J(B), L/J(G), D(B), SP(G)
  • U11: 100m, 60mH, 800m, H/J(B), L/J(G), D(B), SP(G)
  • U12: 100m, 60mH, 800m, L/J(B), H/J(G), SP(B), D(G)
  • U13: 100m, 80mH, 800m, D(B), SP(G), H/J(B), L/J(G)
  • U14: 100m, 80mH(G), 90mH(B), 800m, H/J, SP
  • U15: 100m, 90mH(G), 100mH(B), 800m, L/J, D

* To be eligible: Athletes must attempt all events at least once. Points towards trophies commence from Week 1

Ten Year Service Award

This award is presented to an athlete who has been a member of Mt Gravatt Little A’s for 10 years. Additionally, QLAA supply 10 year badge and participation certificate.

Five Year Service Award

This award is presented to an athlete who has been a member of Mt Gravatt Little A’s for 5 years (not necessarily continuous).

U15 Age Group recognition

These athletes are presented with a commemorative shirt as well as the QLAA U15 graduation certificate.

Participation Trophy

For all Athletes who attain at least 60% attendance points from joining date.

Life Membership

The person receiving this prestigious award must have been a member of the Club for at least 10 years; must have been a committee member for at least 7 years, and most importantly, they must have performed their normal duties as well as other tasks over and above what is generally required of ordinary Committee Members.

QLAA AWARDS

Laurie Baartz Improvement Trophy

This trophy is presented each year at State Championships to the Little Athlete showing the greatest degree of personal improvement. MGLA nominee is the winner/s of the Norm Gadd Memorial Trophy.

George Harvey Trophy

The State award is presented each year to an U15 girl and/or boy in Qld who best demonstrates they embrace the ideals of Little Athletics.

State Selection — Australian Little Athletics Championships

U13 athletes compete at the ALA Championships. Whilst recognition is given to individual place-getters, the emphasis is on Team Performance. Each State is limited to 22 competitors (11 boys and 11 girls).

U15 athletes are eligible for selection to compete in the Pentathlon Competition (Hurdles, 100m, 800m, Long Jump and Discus). To be eligible for selection for the State Team, 60% attendance at Centre Competition is required.
